In my dreams I hold you tight

In the silence of the night

You laugh, you grow, you play

You don't have to go away

In my dreams I kiss your head

As I lay you gently in your bed

You look at me and smile

My beautiful precious child

In my dreams you shout my name

As we happily play a game

You sit snugly on my knee

And our hearts are filled with glee

In my dreams you did not die

So I don't sit and cry

You splash playfully in the bath

Daddy's drenched, so we all laugh

In my dreams I feel no pain

My child is with me again

Full of mischief and childish fun

His life on earth has only begun

In my dreams I brush your hair

Like your Daddys, it's very fair

I sing you softly to sleep,

but out of one eye you always peep

But my dreams they have to end

And our broken hearts we have to mend

If only dreams came true

because then I would still have you xx
