Days, weeks, months time goes on
flowers have long since faded
Life moves on lacking purpose now
Daily chores so regularly performed
They seem the perfect pair
Sharing their sadness and despair
But no matter how much they long
they will never see their Jacob there
But they feel him in their hearts
That beautiful son with whom they had to part
Their grief has taken over their fun and laughter
Pleasure has been overcome by disaster
In the dark and still of the night
When salty tears run down our cheek
We can reach out and hold him tight
Jesus will surround us with the love we seek
Time goes on, silent tears continue to fall
Gently as the Autumn leaves touch the ground
Although death seems as final as the trees in winter
